Fish Tale

Title: Fish Tale
Artist: Linda Rothchild Ollis
Size: 20 x 20 inches
Medium: Watercolor

Living on the Multnomah Channel, I am grateful for the
inspiration that comes from observing wildlife, birds,
water patterns, boaters, fishermen/fisher women, and
jumping fish. Most days, my early mornings start by
eating breakfast and studying art, by my window. With
my paper, pencil and camera ready, I begin developing
drawings and when a boat drifts by and the light is right,
I capture it for a reference photo. This painting combines
abstract techniques with realistic subject matter, which
is an ongoing painting goal.
Since I often hear humorous "Fish Tales" from my neighbors
and friends who fish, it seemed fitting to create a story, by
including a jumping fish, behind the fisherman's back.
