These beginning steps of this painting originated
from leaf reference photos from the last painting I posted.
Thank you for your input, comments and suggestions for
the last painting I posted. The vote was almost even!
In Photoshop Elements, I used
several layers to edit two photos and a gradient layer.
The paintings above are the beginning steps of working
from a light value range to a middle value range.
The composition is designed to combine realistic images
and abstact textures.
As this process unfolds, it is a wonderful exercise in using
both right and left sides of my brain, while continuing to
work on all parts of the painting. Yikes!
